MISSED LESSON POLICY
This missed lesson policy is being implemented to stabilise the weekly income of our teachers and ensure the business continues to meet its financial obligations into the future.
If a student misses a lesson for any reason, there will be no obligation for Yodelay Music to issue a refund, schedule a make-up lesson or carry lesson credits forward to the next term, even if prior notice is given for an absence. The teacher will endeavour to organise a catch-up lesson throughout the term, but there is no guarantee that this will occur due to the busy nature of the spaces and our very tight weekly scheduling.
At the schools that Yodelay Music provides music tutors to, we appreciate that the school environment is very busy and dynamic which can make the scheduling of music lessons difficult. This being the case, missed lessons are unavoidable at times where neither party is at fault due to camps and excursions and other school activities. In an average ten week term, parents will be charged for nine lessons to allow for a risk free missed lesson each term. Our teachers should have the capacity to facilitate an additional catch-up for at least one other missed lesson per term. If there is more than two missed lessons in a term, there will be no further obligation to credit, make-up or otherwise recompense parents for these missed sessions.
For both studios and primary school programs, where a Yodelay teacher has cancelled a lesson due to their own illness or absence, a catch-up lesson, refund or credit for the next term will be provided.
If you know of an upcoming trip or family holiday that will significantly impact lessons during the term, let me know and we will endeavour to come to a suitable agreement surrounding the term fees..
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this further.
